GREATER MANCHESTER'S GREAT SUCCESS STORY
One of the busiest town centres in Greater Manchester, Ashton-under-Lyne has undergone a major transformation over the past few years, thanks to massive private and public investment in its future. The strong momentum created by The Commonwealth Games in East Manchester is driving positive change to the east of the conurbation and Ashton, as the gateway to Tameside, is poised to benefit substantially from this.
Today's Ashton is an upwardly mobile town with a great future - a place for living, working and playing. We hope you enjoy your visit to our website and look forward to welcoming you to our town.

Future opportunities
The Government has announced a successor funding scheme to the current Neighbourhood Renewal Fund that ends in March called The Working Neighbourhoods Fund and Tameside has been awarded £12.5million over a three-year period.
This fund will support employment projects across the borough and is likely to include the former Ashton Regeneration Project area within its focus.
The Regeneration Partnership will remain and continue to work in the best interests of residents in the area. Watch this space for news in the future about how the Partnership will take forward its work over the next three years.
