DON'T BIN IT – RECYCLE IT!
Did you know that the UK produces an estimated 9.3 million tons of waste packaging and 4.2 million tons comes from commercial and industrial sources?
A new and exciting service has been launched which not only provides solutions to your recycling needs but also benefits the local community –Recycle-It.
Recycle It is a cardboard collection service brought to you by St.Peter’s Partnerships Ashton-Under-Lyne and Tameside MBC, which currently collects over 20 tons of cardboard per month from 88 businesses locally and is aiming to treble this by the end of the year.
Recycle It will make it easy for you to recycle your cardboard and plastic with the convenience of regular collections. Any business wishing to utilise this service will be supplied with large builder’s bags in which to store cardboard / plastic until a collection is required.
Whilst this service will be supplied free of charge to any company that can guarantee at least ONE ton of cardboard PER WEEK, charges to other local businesses are as follows:

Using Recycle It will help keep our local area clean and tidy and will divert recyclable cardboard away from landfill sites. It will also create worthwhile job opportunities for local people whilst any operational surplus from the scheme will be used to support St.Peter's charitable causes
